"Never surrender to the momentum of mediocrity"
It is all too easy to accept, "this is how I have become".......
But as per this quote from Marlon Brando, it can be very dangerous.
By living passively, by not considering whether our routine behaviours are really serving our best interests given what we want out of life, and by accepting how we have become, we give real power and momentum to mediocrity.
The longer that we surrender to being ‘ok with just feeling ok’, the more we forget what feeling really invigorated feels like and the more tempting it is to assume, "this is just how we have become", losing sight of the power we have to take back control.
Without wanting to sounds trite, life really is short, mediocrity really sucks. It is a sure-fire means to fritter away our only completely irreplaceable asset, time.
We must all continually experiment with how we live, challenge behaviours that we might be conveniently blind to and kill any momentum towards mediocrity.
Next time we recognise our performance is a bit mediocre, we can and should use it as an opportunity to take ownership and inspire change.
